Give us the details on how you became a Reckonaut! Who'd play you in The Reckoner movie?

How did I become a Reckonaut? Did I have a choice? I am the creator of the creator of The Reckoner. Though happily so, without me, there would be no Reckoner or Dan Koch. So here I am spouting my motherly wisdom in support of this really neat, new website. As to who would play me in The Reckoner movie, my first choice would be Angelina Jolie; however, if she was not available, I guess it would have to be Doris Roberts of "Everyone Loves Raymond" fame.

If I were a recipe, it would call for: one cup of Ellen Barkin, Glenn Close, Diane Keaton and Barbara Walters, a tablespoon of Elizabeth Taylor and a sprinkleing of Tina Turner and Pink for flavor. How's that for a tastey mix???

The vote on this question depends on the person's connotation of the word "good".If surviving through the financial crisis, holding on to your job, making ends meet, and avoiding getting sick and tired, is good for you, then it was a good year. On the other hand, maybe just surviving isn't good enough, and you need a certain level of prosperity or moving in a positive direction to call it a good year....

Most people are caught up in the moment and have the best intentions at the time, but in reality we all know that the road to diappointment is littered with good intentions ie New Year's resolutions....

I really enjoyed Seinfeld: hence a question I posed that is still pending approval from Reckonbot...however, I love Curb with all its squirmey, social dysfunction interactions...Larry David IS hysterical and as his friends call him "A social assassin" !!! I am said to have a very discerning sense of humor, and I find myself rolling on the floor with laughter at Larry's adventures!!!!

People are still ga ga over Lady Ga Ga...and she just moved into a multi-million dollar mansion in the Lancaster/Lebanon area. Don't be surprised to see Ga Ga riding a horse and buggy in Amish land....I would love to see the  faces when they see her in her get-up doing this!!!!

I use one knife, but I wipe the knife with a paper towel before dipping it in the jelly. Problem solved...

The skin is suppose to be the healthiest part of the potato, and potato skins are sold as an appetizer.

I have already begun this battle with Tim M. on Face book. Of course he is a Yankee fan and I'm Phillies all the way!!!!

For people who are visual, this art form had its time much like silent films. I feel part of what made Star Wars so phenomenal was the CGI. To me to see that huge spaceship thundering through the blackened, starry sky of a galaxy far, far, away just drew me in......

Dec. 29, 2011, 11:26 a.m.

I love all animals and have had cats and dogs, but I'm definitely a dog person. Call me crazy, but a dog can see in to your soul.....

Malcom...just plain annoying, with his "nature will find a way" and it did, but Grant, with his hard exterior but soft as jelly interior and prehistoric knowledge, saved the kids, saved Malcom, saved his gal pal, and still managed to have the adventure of his life! What a man!!!

I'm not a fast runner, so I think I like the lumbering zombie; however, since I will have my arsenal of weapons over food and flowers (from a former question) even if they are fast, they're going DOWN before they reach me...

Can't believe how close this battle is...but then again, they were both wonderful movies. I still love Raiders of the Lost Ark the best since it launced the entire series.....

You can't call yourself Italian or paisano while drinking beer with your pasta. Save the beer for your bratwurst and kraut, and wine all the way for your pasta dishes!!!

I thought two spaces disappeared with the typewriter!!!!

Festivus is for the Gringius' of the world! In other words there will be no aluminum pole hung up at our house next Christmas. I'm still lamenting the fact that I moved to a smaller fake Christmas tree this year! Still pining for the large, full real tree that we picked at the Christmas tree farm.

So many good memories!!!!

I'm split on this question. Polar Express was fine in my opinion, but the Disney Christmas Carol with Jim Carey as Scrooge was very creepy...I still think it is neat effect.

YES, LEO, I KNOW WHOM YOU REFER TOO! THIS YEAR EVERYONE IN THE KOCH CLAN WILL BE OPENING PRESENTS ON CHRISTMAS DAY. BECAUSE OF FAMILY LOGISTICS, WE HAD OPENED GIFTS ON CHRISTMAS EVE. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE CHRISTMAS DAY....

Dec. 22, 2011, 9:45 a.m.

I will always take the time to write a few lines about what is going on in the family to only the people whom I feel CARE. Form letters to everyone on your list is tacky, tacky, tacky!

No doubt about it, The Empire Strikes Back was the best. When I saw the orginal in the movie theater, I could not wait for the sequel. Most sequels fall flat on their face; however, Empire was GREAT!!! I felt at that time, and still after numerous viewings feel it IS the best!!!!

I'm anal that way. Can't do anything last minute.

Not me...too impatient. I will wait to see which lane is creeping faster than make a move when somebody leaves room for me.

Every world I worked in encouraged me to take my vacation between Christmas and New Year.

It ain't over till the fat lady sings!!! Especially with the Phillies who have had extraordinary late inning wins...I think coming back in the ninth with a nine run deficit in one game....correct me if I'm wrong, Dan.

I paid, I stay, I'm being entertained no matter what...

Come on....this is like the Alec Baldwin Sweaty Balls skit...It's a holiday tradition!!!

Even though Bruce is heavily identified with NJ, I feel Bon Jovi IS NJ.

But then again, I am a bit biased being a great fan of him and the group!

I agree Dan L., but we have to get the Bon Jovi fan club weighing in here

just as the PJ people did.

Unless you have experienced  something paranormal, which many of us have, you are certainly going to be a skeptic. There are many things that happen in life that have no explanation, so it is human nature to attribute an explanation or a reason for the happening.....for example, Dan's explanation. The real answer is that there is always a possibility if not a probability...

Definitely at night.....Who has time in the morning especially if you are teaching an 8 am class 45 miles away?

Today's newspaper is saying there is growing support for sports betting in NJ.

Agree with you 100%, Jason.....

WHY???? Even for free...no interest...

The first child you might like to be suprised. However the next child you do want to know.

Saturday is the best because yuou know that you have the next day off as well. On Sunday most likely you are anticipating the grind of Monday approaching....weekend almost over.

I'm with Dad on this one; it's a real adventure; however, I would be doing it a lot more cautiously than the people in Jurassic Park. I wouldn't be running around, screaming, shining lights in T-Rex's face and being a downright idiot.  Since Dad is packing, I would be staying near him if not packing my own sense of security.

Hey, Dan, It sure beats the game Life. I like it even though I always lose to you!

Missed the mark on television for me....Of course other than nominating Leo D for best actor, who cares about the rest of those movies?

Dec. 15, 2011, 4:20 p.m.

He's winning....what more can you say? If it's luck...or if it's talent....or if it's divine intervention or maybe a little of everyting....who cares? The name of the game is to win.....and Tebow is a winner!!!

Dec. 15, 2011, 3:14 p.m.

Actually did a lot of running in my day...and I did start to like it when I realized I could eat anything I liked and still maintain my perfect weight.

I used to send to everyone regardless of whether cards were sent to me first. However, because of time limitations, I have actually stopped sending cards, unless someone does take the time to send one to me. Then, I will return the thought. I keep a box of cards handy for that reason.

I hate to see any big business go under...it's like the sign of a dying economy or at least a dying industry....

To be dumped is no fun any time, but it is hypocritical to buy or accept a gift from someone you are going to remove from your life. Save your money and let him save his dignity and let him go BEFORE the holiday.

Why did you wait so long, anyway??????

Dec. 14, 2011, 1:43 p.m.

Ever hear of the expression, "You snooze, you lose"?

Dec. 14, 2011, 12:31 p.m.

Jingle bells, jingle bells, Dunkin' all the way.

Watching TOO much Angels & Demons!!!!

Dec. 13, 2011, 8:38 p.m.

Depends on the profession you are in......

Back it in all the way!

I say always err on the side of being assertive... Send the e-mail thank you too...The worst that could happen is that they will think you are really interested in the position!

I have to go with the guns which probably makes me one gun-toting mama, but let's get our priorities straight here... You have to survive or there is no need for food. I can survive by shooting all the zombies or whatever are after me, I can find food to sustain me, by raiding deserted supermarkets and food product stores and farms, and if there is any wildlife that survived, I can hunt with a gun.

And besides, all you would-be farmers. You are going to be killed while you are out there planting your seeds and harvesting your crops:unless you are packing heat and defending yourself and your crops!!!!!

REMEMBER MAD MAX!

Dec. 11, 2011, 8:36 p.m.

Exactly.....LOVE a real tree, but after so many years of the Christmas arguements over what Dan Lloyd just said, I switched to the fake. Still love a real tree, but now the holiday is hassle-free. Got to pick your battles I guess.

You live in the city, so why not try something different for a change....

Relaxing and enjoying the calm sound and beauty of nature

In my life, I have done both. The reality of this question is that sometimes you have to work for the money - even if you hate the job - to get you to the place that you can work at what you really love doing for a lot less money.

Dec. 10, 2011, 1:52 p.m.

This boils down to what relaxes you before you go to bed. For some of us, it is reading a good novel, but for others of us, it is watching a late night talk show on the newest edition of "Storage Wars".
