Indiana Jones Battle! Raiders of The Lost Ark versus Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade!
The Reckoner! is wrapping up its Christmas hibernation in style by watching Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade the only way it knows how -- on basic cable.
They just discovered that X marks the spot. We're only about half an hour into this movie, and we've already had three 'I love this scene!'s and about four times where I pledged to stop watching to write this question only to keep watching. This whole movie is like that. And we haven't even met Sean Connery yet. We haven't even gotten to the tank scene yet. Or where they're tied to the chair and it keeps rotating through the secret fireplace into the Nazi control room. Or where he punches the SS guy out of the Zeppelin and says 'No ticket.' Or where Hitler gives Indiana Jones an autograph. Or 'he chose poorly.'
Damn is it a good movie. How could the series have a better movie than this one?
And then I think about Raiders of The Lost Ark, and the whole damn movie turns me into a six-year-old jabbering "And then this happened! And then that happened! And then he whips the guy, and then he repels under the truck, and then KA-POW! BA-ZOOM!! WHOA!!" I mean, that whole stretch from when they discover the Ark to when they get entombed with the snakes down through the fistfight in front of the plane, then the truck chase, then the boat scene, then come on, are you not already digging out the DVD?
I'm at a crossroads. I have no idea which is better. Reckonauts, can you help me? Which is the better movie, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, or Raiders of the Lost Ark?
Note: Temple of Doom and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull are notably absent there. If you think they merit consideration, ask your own darned Reckoning.
